The Rajkumari Ratnavati Girls School, 2020
Jaisalmer, India
Impact students for generations to come
Despite the COVID19 pandemic, the Jaisalmer Girls school is still due to open for over 400 female students in this fall. Right now, we are all challenged to envision a brighter future. You can help create more learning, opportunity and equity for girls and women by making a donation of $1,500 to furnish a classroom with desks, chairs and chalkboard.
Foundation is everything. Become a founding sponsor of the school and choose a class to represent.
Every gift is counts. Make a donation to this visionary project
New Construction, July 2020
The Rajkumari Ratnavati School is available to families living below the poverty line in the Thar Desert region of Jaisalmer District, Rajasthan. Running a state-based curriculum, the facilities will include classrooms, a library, a computer center, and a bus facility to transport girls from neighboring villages. The school will provide education for an estimated 400+ girls, from kindergarten through class 10, who will learn to read and write and develop traditional skills unique to the region. The school will also provide mid-day meals to ensure proper nutrition for the students and to lessen families’ financial burden.
The Girls School is one component of the GYAAN center, which will house a women’s cooperative, marketplace and museum, designed by architect Diana Kellogg. Watch the project rendering below and become a founding member today.
